We found some artefacts in our classroom. We looked closely at each one and tried to workout what they were and, then, who they are connected with. There was a painting of a steam train, a train ticket to Manchester, a design for a lamp, a drawing of a steam train. a map from Liverpool to Manchester and a letter. We thought they might be connected to the person who drove the train or maybe someone who was interested in trains. One of our class recognised that the train in the painting was The Rocket and someone else knew that George Stephenson had designed it. They told us they had seen it in the National Railway Museum in York. We knew then that these artefacts were connected to George Stephenson.
